Learning Objectives: By the end of this section, a participant will be able to:

  1. Define program evaluation and understand why it is important.
  2. Describe the steps in developing and implementing a program evaluation.
  3. Recognize the what, why, and how of program goals.
  4. Determine the program activities that will further the program goals.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this section, a participant will be able to:

  1. Create program objectives as measurable statements.
  2. Describe the difference between process and outcome objectives.
  3. Design objectives using SMART qualities.
  4. Avoid many of the common problems and pitfalls in developing program objectives.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this section, a participant will be able to:

  1. Determine how to measure program objectives.
  2. Describe various measurement methods.
  3. Recognize who and what to measure.
  4. Create and implement an evaluation plan.
  5. Undertand the common pitfalls of data collection.

Tutorial Four: Sharing Results

  • Sharing the results of an evaluation
  • Basic components of an evaluation report
  • Tips for writing reports, tables, and figures
  • Using your evaluation results

Section Length: approximately 15 minutes.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this section, a participant will be able to:

  1. Write an evaluatin report that is approprate to the intended audience.
  2. Idenify and implement the basic components of an evaluation report.
  3. Create meaningful table and figures for your report.
  4. Share your results even when objectives are not met.
