6. Healthy People 2004, March 9-12, 2004 , Loma Linda
University school of public health

Healthy People 2004 entitled Spirituality, Culture, &
Health is scheduled for March 9-12, 2004 will take place at
Wong Kerlee International Conference Center, Loma Linda
University. Healthy People 2004 will feature a selection of
current popular interest to Public Health professionals.
The theme for the first two days is Spirituality & Health -
Connections in Research and Practice. The theme for the
third day is Culture in Healthcare - Best Practices. Topics
to be discussed in plenary and breakout sessions include a

Chlamydia Training course

California STD/HIV Prevention Training Center has online
Chlamydia Training Course designed to increase the
knowledge of asymptomatic Chlamydia infection and the
importance of screening young sexually active women.
Contents of the course include Chlamydia screening
guidelines, epidemiology of Chlamydia, clinical aspects of
Chlamydia, sexual history taking and counseling, and
diagnostic testing and clinical management of Chlamydia.

12. CDC's New E-journal

publish a new E-journal to be published quarterly by the
National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health
Promotion (NCCDPHP). The first issue scheduled for December

13. NAIAD Opens Innovative Treatment Study for West Nile
Virus
______________________________________
The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
(NIAID), one of the National Institutes of Health,
announced that it has began enrolling volunteers at 36
sites nationwide for a clinical trial that evaluates an
experimental treatment for patients infected with West Nile
virus (WNV). This study is part of a larger effort by NIAID
to develop new ways to prevent and treat the disease. For
